Comic Fiesta 2009

Last Saturday and Sunday went to Comic Fiesta for some cosplay shots. ^^;
I realized that i enjoy seeing the cosplayers walk around outside more than go inside the convention hall. Obviously this year’s Comic Fiesta got more audiences compare to previous year. It’s good to see Malaysia’s ACG circle is growing bigger and bigger. Not too bad for this year’s Comic Fiesta, the only downside i would say is exhibition hall kinda small for the crowd.

Here are some photos i able to get there, not many due to the bad lighting condition.
Need more practice on using the flash.

AFA09 - Anime Festival Asia 2009 (Part 1)

Spent 3 days at Singapore last week, and all the effort goes to AFA09!
On the first day of AFA09, i tried to go there earlier to avoid some “human jam” at Suntec Convention hall. But by the time i reach there around 9am, the crowds already there and people are all around the place.

Waited awhile, 10am plus the gate is open. Rush into the hall, grab the camera and get some quick snaps within the exhibition hall before the place is fully packed. After wandering around the hall for 30 minutes and heck, AFA is not as big as i expected but well nevermind, it’s interesting enough for me to spend the whole day inside.

The appearance of Danny Choo at was a surprise for me. How should i elaborate this hmmm… it might because i always thought that he is a “celebrity” class blogger and wouldn’t simply show his face around, but definitely he’s not gonna be that way. He’s friendly and mingle around with all other “otacools”, taking photos with the peoples and so. Too bad i went there alone and i trust no one to hold my camera for me. :p

After a quarter of hour i snap photos at Tokyo Figure Show Singapore, i went to the main stage for the preview screening of blockbuster animation directed by Hosoda Mamoru, Summer Wars. The director of Summer Wars, Hosoda Mamoru came all the way to Singapore and promote this animation that will be air in Singapore on February 2010. We all went thru the Q&A session with the director and he explained some of his thoughts and idea on the process of masterpiece creation.

Next highlights on stage of course is the first ever Regional Cosplay Championship and the appearance of Kaname.
All the contestants are very good in their costumes. But my vote still goes to the female Philippine cosplayers Ashely and Alodia, they are just simply gorgeous and cool. Too bad they couldn’t manage to get the grand prize.

Last but not least, it’s the time for I Love Anisong concert. I’m not the “I Love Anisong Concert” ticket holder hence i queued for around 2 hours to get a front row spot. Not a big fans of Shoko-tan, Hatsune Miku and Aniki but yeah i still enjoyed the concert pretty well.

Okay after all these long craps, enjoy the photos i able to capture on the event.

Here are the Cosplay photos i manage to capture from AFA09.
Many of them aren’t going into the exhibition hall, they stayed outside and let photographers to take their photos. I missed quite a lot of good cosplayers because on day 1 i just keep myself inside the hall without knowing there are actually so many cosplayers outside.

Media Prima TV Networks Screening 2010

I was given a chance to visit the Media Prima TV Networks Screenings 2010 that held on 31 October 2009, Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre. The first thing that came into my mind is “wow, is a good chance to brush up my event photography skills”, so i feel no hesitation to go. Some more TVB actor and actress Cheng Kah Weng and Fala Chen are invited to the screenings, and my luck are good enough can get a few shots of them.

十分有幸的我有机会亲临10月31日在吉隆坡展览厅举办的首要媒体电视网络2010年screenings。
第一个想到的事情是“哇，这是个很好训练自己拍event照的机会”，所以我毫不犹豫就去了。再加上TVB演员郑嘉荣和陈法拉也受邀出席，而我也十分幸运可以拍到他们几张照片。

Kinda challenging because of the different lightings around the place. And first time struggle for more reach to do stage performance photography, craving for a fast telezoom lens! But still had lots of fun taking pictures there, a very good experience i would say.

整体来说这次的拍摄对我来说是挺有挑战性的，因为需要对环境不同的灯光进行调整。
也第一次觉得有焦段不够想抓狂的感觉，真是很想要有支大光圈长焦镜啊。不过我是满享受整个过程的，给了我不少经验。

AFA09

It’s been awhile since my last update. I had a busy week that filled with heavy workload, japanese classes, gym workouts and spent lots of time reading on photography stuffs. But thanks to Facebook, i still manage to get the latest updates about AFA09.

已经有好一阵子没有更新了。因为最近都忙碌于工作，上日文课，到健身房以及花了不少时间在研究及学习摄影技巧。
虽然没什么空闲的时间，但却Facebook的缘故我还是可以获取了AFA最新的活动更新。

Games Convention Asia 2009

Sharing some of the photos i snapped from Games Convention Asia 2009, Suntec Singapore.
The first thing that came into my mind when i heard about this convention is something similar to Tokyo Game Show.
Some how i disappointed after checking on the exhibitor’s list. After all the place i’m going is Singapore, not Tokyo.

Exhibitors are mainly online games distributors like IAH Games, MOL, New Era Entertainment and Garena etc.
There are also some booths that show a few latest upcoming titles for XboX and PS3 from local game distributors.
The exhibition size isn’t too huge but yet the audiences are able to walk around freely, which is good for a big sweater like me.

Unfortunately not much of photos i get from this event because i was pissed, due to a staff who stopped me to photograph their booth while i’m trying to get a very first photo of this event.

Super Import Nights 2009

Went to an after market car show at Singapore Expo called “Super Import Nights 2009″.
They got imported cars, imported parts and yeah, imported chicks as well.
Main purpose of going to this show isn’t about the cars over there, i treated it as a good chance to practice my skill on human portraits with tight budget. Hence, what i really concern is the quality and quantity of the models.

Overall i’m quite satisfied, with S$10 i get a chance to snap photos of imported models from USA, Thailand and Taiwan. Not to mention, Nikon as the main sponser of the imaging gives all Nikon camera users special priority to go nearer front of the stage to get better shots.

This post isn’t really related to ACG, but it’s part of my development in my life that i would like to share with everyone.

GACC 2009, Day 1 Photos!

After 2 hours of slow driving finally i’m able to reach MMU Melaka by around 1pm without lost, thanks to the printable map from GACC.
I missed the lame opening of GACC, really wonder how it look like.
