Photo Outing - Kat
Posted by Hong | Under Photography 摄影
Photo shoot with the model, Kat. The location is Heritage hotel at KTM Station, Kuala Lumpur.
This is my first outdoor fashion photo shoot with model, kinda challenging in my opinion.
Why? Because it’s not only point the camera to model, compose half body or face of the model. I have to take consideration of the surroundings, the building or even the sky and clouds. It really need to take some effort to look around and think what and how to shoot. And i did some experiment with my 2 lenses in this session, the Tamro 17-50mm f2.8 and Nikkor 50mm f1.8. Before this i never know the subject isolation is much greater with the 50mm prime, and bokeh are so much better as well. From now on i’ll never feel hesitate to switch lens whenever the 50mm is usable.
Beside taking outdoor, me and the fellows also walk inside the hotel and took some shots.
This place is good place for photographs, many wedding photos are taken there and you also can find lots of people with DSLR walking around there.
Here are the shots i managed to get, enjoy and give me your comments or critiques that you think i need to improve on next session.
p/s: Larger standalone images are viewable at my flickr page.

November 2nd, 2009 at 9:37 pmThis is not Leng Yeing right?
The shot I loved most was her standing in the corridor with both her arms stretched at her sides.

November 2nd, 2009 at 10:55 pmYou have quite few great ones… I really like the crooked smile in the last photo. Probably not everybody’s cup of tea but it shows her mischievous side of her.
Are these like paid model shoots? Just like what they organize on clubsnap?

November 4th, 2009 at 5:28 pmHong bro, I can see improvements since your first photoshoot with Crystal - Getting better and better now.
Psst… I won’t say “Keep it up!” because secretly i think it’s kinda lame - something an old-fashioned teacher tells an innocent school kid.
